" WINE PUB OF THE YEAR 2001 "

" In 1998 a team of investors purchased the attractive but run down set of old buildings comprising the Shibden Mill. They had as their objective the re-awakening of this seperate pub and small hotel operation with the policy of offering 'five star service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere' - a reflection of the fact that prestige catering operations often forgot the warmth of the human element the welcome should be integral to the catering experience.

To achieve this, throughout the Shibden Mill package an almost fanatical
attention to detail shines out and nowhere more apparent than with the wine list.
Careful choice of paper and textured covers, attractive logo and design layout, attention to typeface and to clarity, judiciously chosen wines with well presented tasting notes and best of all, very fair prices, all combining toward a presentation it is difficult to fault.

The 52 wines listed show remarkable balance, there are 5 wines in their
Connoisseur Collection which deservedly lists 'Wolf Black Label' alongside classics like 'Corton Charlemagne' and 'Chateau La Laguna'. 12 wines are
available in regular (125ml), medium (175ml) or large (300ml) glasses and the main body of the list has a price spread from £10.20 to £28.75"
