Using ultra traditional techniques, selecting grapes from vines of a minmum 15 years of age. They are left on the lees for an extended period, matured in French Oak for a minimum of 2 years, and then racked 3 times per year with no fancy bottling, just a pipe, four taps, gravity and a candle. A rich green gold colour, heady, lightly oakey but with a seductively nutty bouquet.

A truly fine Chateauneuf from this well respected domaine established in 1344. A majestic wine using all 13 permitted grapes, having a deep ruby colour with floral, fruity, spicy, even herby aromas, and a rich, mouth-filling warm flavour.

74. CHATEAU RAMAGE LA BATISSE CRU BOURGEOIS. HAUT-MEDOC
Situated in the heart of this outstanding region of the Medoc, stretching along the estuary of the Gironde. Strongly marked by the aromas of cherries and kernels, a fine touch of wood, with a marked robust backbone, full, dense and complex wine, round and fat with a lot of charm.

75. "WILGHA VINEYARD" COONAWARRA. HOLLICK WINES
The Wilgha Vineyard is situated in cooler southern area of the farmed Coonawarra wine growing district on the legendary "Terra Rossa" soil using only the best grapes and is only released in exceptional years. Harvested late April, partially fermented in new American oak barriques then 2 years maturation in the same barrels. Aromas of lifted finely ground white pepper with integrated chocolatey oak nuances. A soft and complex palate featuring enhanced sweet spicy fruit, pepper and balancing cedary oak characters finishing with soft lingering tannins.

75% Tempranillo, 13% Mazuela, 10% Garnacha, 2% Graciano. Murrieta's flagship, aged for 50 months in a magnificent collection of old American oak casks varying from 25-40 years of age. bright, tawny red in colour, with an open nose of rich spice and fruit, balanced by firm, subtle oak. The palate begins light and warm, becoming increasingly serious with hints of mushrooms and nuts, balanced by fresh acidity and soft tannins.

Lovely deep warm cherry bouquet with a touch of spice. A funky wine with deep warm cherry plum flavours. Raspberries, blueberries with a little grapefruit which all develops into strong mushroom notes in the finish. A complex and distinctive wine

78. ALOXE-CORTON 1st CRU "LES CHAILLOTS" LOUIS LATOUR
One of the gems of the Cote de Beaune. It needs time for its bouquet to develop and for a certain youthful hardness to soften. Worth the wait though, being quite full flavoured, complex, structured and distinguished. Appealing velvety fruit to the fore, mouth-coating body and richness with an intriging bouquet which is very distinctive.
